THE COMPANION PROGRAM
Given the choice most seniors, and persons with medical conditions or physical challenges, would prefer to live in their own homes and be as independent as they can. That’s not always possible, but, for many this dream can become a reality with the addition of our easy to use Personal Emergency Response System called Companion. Featuring CareGard by GE. It is connected to your existing telephone system, and places a call for help to our professional operators whenever you need assistance, any time of the day or night. Family, neighbors, and medical personnel are notified immediately, so they can respond. Now a service from two names you can trust. GE and Berkshire Communicators, Inc. An optional secure RJ3 1X telephone jack is also available to seize the telephone line and ensure the signals are sent.

• Easy to Operate
  You keep a wireless transmitter with you at all times. In the event of an at home emergency, any emergency, you press the alarm button. This sends a signal to the console to automatically call Berkshire Communicators Emergency Monitoring Center, (BCI), staffed by trained professionals 24/7. When these operators receive your call, they notify the key people whom you have pre-selected to respond in specific situations: family members, neighbors, friends, or appropriate rescue personnel. It can even notify a pager.
• Round the Clock Assistance
  The heart of the system is the GE CareGard Console. It is designed for tabletop use and is ideal for bedside placement. It features a centrally located CALL button for manual activation in the same manner as the personal transmitters. During the alarm, the console sounds a distinct tone, and announces the emergency, to identify the type of alarm. During a power outage, continuous protection is ensured by a long life rechargeable back up battery. The wristband is designed to be worn all the time and is water resistant for showering.
• Activity Monitor
  The activity monitor requires you to press the Status button on the console daily. This tells BCI that you are OK. Failure to press the Status button daily will result in being called by our Operator. With the optional Reminder Service our operators will call you up to 3 times a day, automatically.
• In The Presence of Fire or Smoke,
  optional smoke detectors will initiate an automatic fire alarm call to BCI. Warning tones will be sounded by the console and the smoke detectors to alert you.
• A Number of Accessories
  Make it easy to adapt to different circumstances including a door/window sensor, motion detector, carbon monoxide detector, freeze alarm, and water sensor.
• Medication Reminders
  The system has 8 different, programmable medication reminders to remind you when to take your medication. If you forget the reminder a message is sent to BCI.
