In 1938, Mrs. Lillian Belcher started a telephone answering service for medical professionals, using six telephones and six message pads on her living room coffee table. After several expansions, Mrs. Belcher sold the service in 1979, to the Gore family of Lee. Richard and Barbara Gore retired in 1996, and their daughter, Julie Gore Mooney, became the current second-generation president.

Today, Berkshire Communicators Inc. has dozens of employees, and Mrs. Belcher’s half dozen phones have been replaced by a staff of professional operators. With our advanced computer-aided Telemessaging system, we now process thousands of calls per week!
